Finally finished.... now I can sleep.......... ^_^
Well, quite pleased with the way it came out. I now love Maya lots more than when I started the projects since I now understand quite a bit more about it.
Although '1' second shorter.............. than what the set time was supposed to be, I do think that enough flicking, knocking, turning, and bouncing has been going on to show some animation principles. I really enjoyed making this, both the models and the animation part of it. It gave me a quick taste of how different animating in 3D is to 2D and also Stop-mo. For me it's mainly the use of key frames that made me like animating in Maya so much, and ofcourse having the models all made and ready as apposed to 2D where I have to draw each object over again for each frame....
.... haha, not sure if I would have enjoyed it as much if I had to do that even though I do love 2D! :]

Rendered Set....
Some Models
My Tv stand...

Decided to change the glass bit since it would be some more trouble... and also because I LOVE SHINY THINGS! XD.... (it shines when it's rendered)

A wardrobe I saw and liked from the internet.

My version....
I took the style and added it to mine however I couldn'nt make it the same size as it would not have fitted in the corner so I made it with 2 doors instead.

Got this from the internet and liked the design of the shelves... found mine quite boring so wanted to use this.

I couldn't find a way to make the shelf the same as the above and still have it fitting in the animation so I just used the idea and added piece of it to mine.... least it looks better tha the boring straight style.. to me.

My bin...

My 3D bin...

An image of a TV from the internet.... (I dnt like my tv...)

The model I made.... its not white or grey..... its black.... but REALLY shiny! XD

I guess here you can see the colour a bit better...

My mom's table....

My table ^_^

Rendered.

My mom's candle set....

My candle ^_^

I HAVE AN IDEA!! I'LL MAKE A LIGHT BULB! XD..
........ get it? :]

Final before being rendered..
This is it before being rendered....
I just added some the picture on the wall (Maka from Soul Eater!!) XD... and changed a few things.
-Re-animated the ball thing that hits the book because it got screwed up somehow :\
-Edited the shelf
-Changed the table
-Added a wardrobe
-Added a view throught the window.. now a good one but..its somthing :\
and the rest is minor.
It should be good enough now.. I think

Individual Tests
Here are some tests of several objects being animated after they've been through the main animation part.
this is just about the swing motion and the falling books.
Just trying to have a soft bouncy affect on the ball after the rubber falls on it.
The mouse trap test... again.... but this time its usefull. XD
I still need to make the actuall trap move aswel as it snaps... but thats a bit tricky for now...
Finally got the rotation on this pencil after attatching it to a path.
Also animated it further after hitting the scalpel as it goes out of shot.
This was slightly frustrating to do... its still quite stiff but.. thats how its gonna stay!....for now.
Making sure I got the weight right of the hammer when it hit the floor.
A globe that I've added now that the maint animation is over :]

Just thought I'd add a clock aswel.... that wall was looking a bit empty ^_^
Didn't get to do a full minute because my animation is only 29 seconds long :'(

Animation Camera Test
Here is another test but with much more animation work to it. I still have to edit some points such as the pencil flying across the room. It needs to rotate backwards wich is what sends the scalpel upwars however I'm not sure how to add rotation to somthin that's beeing animated along a path :\... so I'm leaving that for later :]

Animation Test
hmm.... a bit small :\... guess i'll have to include a camera for the test aswel...
for those who don't know... (on a Windows computer) Hold ctrl+mouse scroll up to increase the size of the entire page.. including the vid. Hold ctrl+mouse scroll down to reduce the size. (Not sure about a Mac)

SET
Storyboard
This is 'supposed' to be the story board.. if you can understand whats happening.. :\
I do anyhow so I don't care ;P..
Anyway, I didn't like it much because I didn't find that there was enough happening and especially to last for 30 seconds... so I whent on to a new one :]

Here is another storyboard that I'd rather to go with... found it easier to have the pics seperate so.... here thery are :\
1.

2... above the door......

3.

4.

5.

6.

7.

8.

9.

Hopefully it will be clearer and easier for you to understand when I upload the set.

LEG!!
Here I have a leg that I attemted to make over the skeleton and joints to see how well it would move instead of just moving/showing the skeleton or cylinders.

A little pulling here and a little scaling there. :]

Even more moving here, and even more rotating there...

Although the leg did end up 'OK'... because the leg is in three parts, the areas between each section of the leg do not blend with eachother and is easy to see where each part meet. (Not what I want) :(

Here I came to realise that when the knee joint bends, the knee itself pops out of place and this is because of where the joint rotates compared to that part of the leg. However even though I understand that the problem is, I still coudn't figure out a way of fixing this because the leg looks 'allright' when straight. Same goes for the ankle joint.... also.. NOT WHAT I WANT! :'(

Short vid that might show the problem I faced when bending the leg joints more clearer.

CREATING OBJECTS
This is the first model I made using Maya after getting a bit more familiar with the tools.
Mostly just messing around with the 'Boleans' tool, moving vortexes and extruding.

Here is a short test I animated showing domino's falling. I was mostly to experiment animating multiple objects and how i can have them interact with each other.
This was actually focused on using the revolve tool in order to create the vase... (I got ever so slightly carried away) XD
Same thing really, just with more animation and added the cylinders to the skeleton.
Yeey... I made a spring! XD...
Another useful creation that could possibly be used in my final animation :]
This was done for the purpose of learning how to extrude a shape along a line/path... pretty useful if you ask me :]

Learnt how to add basic and different types of lighting. Here I had a directional source of light shining (blue) towards the spring.

This was just me messing about where i made a torch and see if the lighting would look like it's shining from the torch........<_<...

A basic mouse trap... no details added since it's just meant to be for an animation test.

A Little test to see how the mouse trap exactly moves when snapping.... eccept that I missed when I carefully aimed and dropped the pencil...... <_< id="BLOG_video-76754d002ecacd40" class="BLOG_video_class" contentid="76754d002ecacd40" width="320" height="266">
Test 2...
Test 3...
Decided to just hold it and see how it snaps withought the pencil hittin it.
Here's a vid I found on YouTube that shows the motion of the trap in slow motion.
The animation test of the mouse trap being set off.
Don't know why it's moving in slow motion though, I moves alot faster when animated in Maya... hmm :\
A test using the 'Lofting tool'

Just moving and scaling to see what affects I get by doing so.
